AI CRM credit overage scenarios
Answer in brief
Four AI CRM pricing shapes, per seat, seat plus shared credit pool with overage, per AI action and prepaid credit packs, are written here as formulas and worked through at 3, 10 and 25 seats for light and heavy use, using inputs that are illustrative and are not any provider's price.

Four pricing shapes as formulas
This page does the arithmetic only. It uses no provider's price and names no provider. Costs are in units of currency, written u. For what each shape means in a buying decision, read seats, credits and per-agent pricing compared and what happens when AI CRM credits run out.
Formula for one month. Every symbol is an input you supply.
| Shape | Monthly bill |
|---|---|
| Per seat | seats x seat price |
| Seat plus shared credit pool with overage | seats x seat price + overage charge, where credits used = seats x actions per seat x credits per action, pool = seats x included credits per seat, overage credits = max(0, credits used - pool), and overage charge = overage credits x overage rate |
| Per AI action or resolution | platform fee + seats x actions per seat x price per action |
| Prepaid credit packs | packs x pack price, where packs = credits used / pack size, rounded up |
Inputs used in the worked bills
Every number below was chosen to make the arithmetic readable. None is any provider's price.
Each input: illustrative input for the arithmetic, not any provider's price.
| Shape | Input | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Per seat | Seat price per month | 80 u |
| Seat plus pool | Seat price per month | 50 u |
| Seat plus pool | Included credits per seat, shared in a pool | 1,000 credits |
| Seat plus pool | Credits per action | 5 credits |
| Seat plus pool | Overage rate per credit | 0.02 u |
| Seat plus pool | Cap on monthly overage charge | 200 u |
| Per action | Platform fee per month | 100 u |
| Per action | Price per AI action or resolution | 0.12 u |
| Credit packs | Pack size | 10,000 credits |
| Credit packs | Pack price | 150 u |
| Credit packs | Credits per action | 5 credits |
| All shapes | Actions per seat per month, light use | 100 |
| All shapes | Actions per seat per month, heavy use | 600 |
| All shapes | Seats | 3, 10 or 25 |

| 3 | Heavy | 600 | 80 u | 240 u |
| 10 | Light | 100 | 80 u | 800 u |
| 10 | Heavy | 600 | 80 u | 800 u |

Worked bills: seat plus shared pool with overage
Overage share is the overage charge divided by the month-end bill without a cap. A cap here limits the overage charge. It does not say what happens to AI actions after the cap: on your contract, that might mean a stop, a downgrade or a queue.
Inputs: seat price 50 u, included credits 1,000 per seat, credits per action 5, overage rate 0.02 u, cap 200 u. Each is an illustrative input for the arithmetic, not any provider's price.
| Seats | Use | Actions per seat | Credits used | Pool | Overage credits | Overage charge | Bill before overage | Overage share | Month-end bill, no cap | Month-end bill, with cap |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 | Light | 100 | 1,500 | 3,000 | 0 | 0 u | 150 u | 0.0% | 150 u | 150 u |
| 3 | Heavy | 600 | 9,000 | 3,000 | 6,000 | 120 u | 150 u | 44.4% | 270 u | 270 u |
| 10 | Light | 100 | 5,000 | 10,000 | 0 | 0 u | 500 u | 0.0% | 500 u | 500 u |
| 10 | Heavy | 600 | 30,000 | 10,000 | 20,000 | 400 u | 500 u | 44.4% | 900 u | 700 u |
| 25 | Light | 100 | 12,500 | 25,000 | 0 | 0 u | 1,250 u | 0.0% | 1,250 u | 1,250 u |
| 25 | Heavy | 600 | 75,000 | 25,000 | 50,000 | 1,000 u | 1,250 u | 44.4% | 2,250 u | 1,450 u |
Worked bills: per AI action or resolution
Inputs: platform fee 100 u, price per action 0.12 u, actions from the use level. Each is an illustrative input for the arithmetic, not any provider's price.
| Seats | Use | Actions | Platform fee | Price per action | Monthly bill |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 | Light | 300 | 100 u | 0.12 u | 136 u |
| 3 | Heavy | 1,800 | 100 u | 0.12 u | 316 u |
| 10 | Light | 1,000 | 100 u | 0.12 u | 220 u |
| 10 | Heavy | 6,000 | 100 u | 0.12 u | 820 u |
| 25 | Light | 2,500 | 100 u | 0.12 u | 400 u |
| 25 | Heavy | 15,000 | 100 u | 0.12 u | 1,900 u |
Worked bills: prepaid credit packs
Unused credits are shown because the rule for what happens to them matters more than the headline pack price. Packs are rounded up, so bills rise in steps.
Inputs: pack size 10,000 credits, pack price 150 u, credits per action 5, actions from the use level. Each is an illustrative input for the arithmetic, not any provider's price.
| Seats | Use | Credits used | Packs | Monthly bill | Credits left over |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 | Light | 1,500 | 1 | 150 u | 8,500 |
| 3 | Heavy | 9,000 | 1 | 150 u | 1,000 |
| 10 | Light | 5,000 | 1 | 150 u | 5,000 |
| 10 | Heavy | 30,000 | 3 | 450 u | 0 |
| 25 | Light | 12,500 | 2 | 300 u | 7,500 |
| 25 | Heavy | 75,000 | 8 | 1,200 u | 5,000 |
What these tables show
For per seat pricing, the bill follows seats and ignores usage. For seat plus pool, the bill bends once usage passes the pool, and the cap matters most at the highest seat counts. For per action pricing, usage drives the bill. For packs, the bill moves in steps and unused credits can be large at low usage. These observations describe the arithmetic of these inputs only. Replace the inputs with your own, using the cost model or the calculator below.

This calculator covers the seat plus shared pool shape. The starting values are this page's illustrative inputs, not any provider's price, and match the 10 seat, heavy use row above. Replace them with the figures from your own quote. It runs in your browser. Nothing is saved or sent.
